Welcome to The Scoop Link Party!

Ah, summertime! We have been enjoying almost every day kickin' it poolside, just chillin' with our littles. We're enjoying it so much that we've decided to take the summer off and simply enjoy the time we have with our kiddo's. Yes, that means Lolly Jane will no longer be part of The Scoop BUT rest assured, the party will go on without us. Just check with our ah-mazing co-hosts each Tuesday to get your link on! (;

Hi there Scoop lovers, I'm Jourdan and my very best friend Ashley & I blog over at Little Yellow Barn. DIY duo Jourdan & Ashley of Little Yellow Barn
We both have a crazy addiction to DIY anything. Something about saving a buck or two while creating beauty in our homes makes our hearts sing. Plus the phrase "I can make that" is a point of weakness for the both of us. Of course this isn't always true, but it doesn't stop us from trying. We blog about our favorite projects, the hazards of painting, health/ beauty products, printables, recipes TO-DIE-FOR and more. Here's a few of our favorite projects: White French dresser French dresser makeover via Little Yellow Barn Chalk painted turquoise hutch Turquoise Hutch via Little Yellow Barn DIY simple tack board DIY simple tack board via Little Yellow Barn Barn door headboard DIY Barn Door Headboard via Little Yellow Barn Visit us at littleyellowbarn.com or on FB, Twitter or Pinterest if you too like to bite off more than you can chew in the DIY department. We can learn together, right! Jourdan of LYB Aren't she and her blog partner Ashley just the cutest? Thank you for being our guesties today, girls! Now it's time to share a handful of features from last week's party. I loved browsing through your projects and am amazed at all the creativity we are lucky to see from you talented bloggers each week. Thank you for sharing your creations at our party! Our party is preparing to welcome some new permanent hosts and continue to grow. Stay tuned for exciting announcements in the upcoming weeks!

Hi there girls! This is Linsey from The Farmhouse Porch and I am delighted to be your host tonight.

I'm so glad you decided to visit our party! Here in Texas summer living is in full effect. Families are staying up late to BBQ and play outside on these warm southern nights. Families are going on road trips to see Grandma or go camping. Moms are toting kiddos to the pool or wandering through air conditioned antique shops to get the kids out of the house and keep their sanity. And school teachers like me are enjoying some time to finish projects and try out new dinner recipes (and read blogs like YOURS dear readers).

From projects to decorating  to mouth watering recipes...here are my picks  from last week's party. You all inspire more people than you'll ever know with your beautiful talents and ideas, especially me! I had so much fun looking through the links from last week.

Prepare to fall in love with this FAB-U-LOUS dining room transformation by The Fancy Shack. And I'm sorry, but if you include your cute lab pup in the picture you up your chance of getting featured by me. Haha!

Waa-hoo! Summer Shopping and Furniture Makeovers!

Summer break in fiiiinallly here! And although I am not a fan of the Texas heat, I love vacation as much as the next school teacher. There's finally time to play and shop and visit friends and paint some paintings!

One of the first things on the summer agenda was a summer haircut for the kids.

I just happened to drive down Main Street in little downtown Humble, TX. Killing time before the hair appointment. I noticed what appeared to be a new antique store in one of the old storefronts. I whipped my car around and ran up to the door to peek in. And by pure chance I noticed my friend Ellen, of  "Ellen's Timeless Treasures", standing on a ladder hanging a light fixture. She showed me into the shop, which was scheduled to open in a few days. She had moved to this new location, and had the new shop looking absolutely adorable. I snapped a few pics to share with you...

The next stop was another unplanned detour. I noticed that the "Humble Trade Days" show was going on at our local civic center. My daughter and I walked through the booths of the open air pavillion quickly. There were only 3 or 4 vendors selling "antiques". Most of the stalls were Scentsy, hair bow, Avon, Premiere Jewelry type stalls. But one lady had a table tucked away, with about 20 pieces of jadeite. I ended up getting 3 old shakers and a refrigerator box for a super great price!! It was my find of the month!

There are some things in life you can never have enough of. Pretty baskets. White towels and sheets. Beautiful old cotton quilts. And JADEITE of course!

The last thing I have to share with you is another little side project I'm working on. When I did the makeover on my master bedroom  HERE, I reclaimed an old "dresser-turned-open-cabinet" from my daughter's room and put it in my bedroom to house my quilts...

This left a pile of books on my daughters desk. She needed a bookshelf desperately. Have you noticed how gosh darn expensive it is for a decent bookcase? A solid wood, somewhat decorative bookcase is hard to find. And it's a pretty penny when you do! I found this one at Goodwill for 19.99. I painted 3 coats of antique white paint on it and called it a day. It was just what I needed and cost next to nothing!

The 2.99 chair, which will go with her 12.99 thrift store desk (yet to be painted) is halfway done. It has one coat of paint on it and as you can tell, I have only wrapped the fabric on the seat loosely to get an idea of what it will look like.

I'd say my first weekend of summer has been pretty productive! And I have SO much more in store for you! Lots of antique shop tours, paintings, projects and even some trips to vintage-y, farm-y places far away. Stay tuned and stay cool my friends! ☼

Each week we highlight one of our favorite bloggers as a special guest host.
This week, please welcome Chelsea from "Making Home Base".
Making Home Base
Hi new friends! I'm Chelsea.
I'm so excited that these sweet ladies asked me to guest co-host this fantastic party!
I blog over at Making Home Base, my little space where I share a bit of everything from crafts and home decor to recipes and even a glimpse of my military life. As a military family living in base housing, decorating can be a challenge. My blog started because I was on a mission to make my bland base house and home base for my family.

Chalkboard Painted TrayWhen you visit the blog, you'll see my craft and home decor projects, like this chalkboard tray.
